Welcome to my new favorite dining experience…Viviane. This beautiful environment created by designer, Kelly Wearstler really makes you feel like you’re on vacation. I guess some guests actually ARE on vacay, as the restaurant is located inside the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. However, for us locals, it really feels like an escape, even if just for a quick lunch break, which for me is usually the case.

As some of you may know, aside from being a blogger I am also a Post Producer in television. I’m currently working on two shows so I often have lunch meetings or drinks after work to squeeze all of my business into one day. Just when I was starting to feel like I had exhausted most of LA’s finest eateries, Viviane came on the scene to give me life again. It seems I am not alone in this feeling of rejuvenation, I’m officially crowning Viviane as the newest industry hot spot. From young actors to screenwriters and agents, everyone wants to sit poolside for a taste of Chef Michael Hung’s fascinating French cuisine. This clean and incredibly original menu features dishes such as the Pastrami-Cured Salmon Tartine (which is pictured in this post and is every bit of delicious) and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes…HELLO!!! I will definitely be back for said cakes but in the meantime I got to thoroughly enjoy what I’m calling an elevated PB&J. The Grilled Country Bread was to die for. Do not skip it, just do yourselves a favor and order one for the table. The combo of marcona almond butter with fresh strawberry preserves will not let you down. Another favorite dish is the Egg White Frittata baked with kale and mushrooms. This is not your everyday egg dish, your mama sure doesn’t make this at home (but if she does, I’m coming over!) First of all, it’s visually stunning, second of all, it’s a darn party in your mouth. The magic sauce they top the frittata with ties everything together and really brightens up the dish. Ugh my mouth is watering as I type!

Viviane is cool, classy, laid back and uber stylish. This restaurant is perfect for a champagne brunch with your gal pals, a power lunch for work, a romantic date or post dinner drinks with your friends. I guess what I’m saying is, Viviane is basically perfect. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, this could be a great idea for a beautiful and original dinner with your love. Quick, run on over to OpenTable (book here) before it fills up! As for me, I’ve now worked up a serious appetite and conveniently it’s lunchtime, so meet me at Viviane!
